A few updates after the trackday, drove up to mondello ok but about a mile before the track I started getting a noise coming from the turbo when I was going into boost, was going mad, thought my turbo was on the way out. Did a few laps anyway cause I didn't want to waste the money I paid for it and the work gone into the car, it seamed to have decent enough power so I drove away taking breaks between every few laps. Was performing ok apart from the noise, I also noticed a small oil leak though which we thought was the sump but it turned out to be coming from the gearbox gaiter, wasn't bad so we just kept going but took a lot of long breaks just in case. Towards the end of the trackday the noise got way worse, even sounded like I had a supercharger in it. Later that day I drove into a shopping center to waste abit of time while I was waiting for my friend to finish work, popped the bonnet to remove the main ignition fuse (didn't have the alarm fitted yet) and spotted a small loose hose, looked around to see where it should have been connected and spotted only one hose going into the dump valve, there was a Y connection on the loose one so connect them together and put them back onto the dump valve, took it for a quick spin and I had all my power back, was delighted. Don't know how we didn't spot it earlier though as the boost controller wasn't working properly (was on but not right). Anyway fitted a decent alarm the day after and drove home with savage power all the way, even if it did sound abit rough, was sounding more like an exhaust hole or crack in the manifold as the day went on though, checked it when I got home and the problem was a sheered bolt on the manifold holding on the turbo, thank god it's nothing worse. Back into the garage again to drill and tap the manifold, put on the new sump and a new braided oil return plus get new better locking nuts to hold on the turbo (the old ones were all loose) probably the last few garages I gave it to's handy work too Evil or Very Mad

Some pics of the trackday plus a little video of the sound cause of the sheered bolt. Was only boosting around .4 on the track (was .7) and must have been losing power from the sheered bolt too but was still hitting 140/150 kms on the straight, going mad cause of the little problems but we still had great fun on the track.

A friend of mine has been doing a lot to this the last few weeks, the manifold is fixed, the new sump is drilled/tapped and on the car, engine is removed at the moment to do the front and rear crank oil seal plus fit a coolent relocation kit (a kit that improves the flow of coolent around the engine, termastat will be moved to the rear of the engine), his started fitting the low profile lights and tidying up some other bits in the engine bay, il get some pics up soon

Fitting the new wheels, as you can see the arches are going to need a lot of work, I think il need wide arches but Brendan (the friend that did the work on my white mx5) thinks il get away with a big roll/flare of the original arches which he said he will be able to do, after the work he did to my other car il take his word for it Very Happy

Brendan had started rolling and flaring the rear arches before japfest and they were coming out great until he noticed their was a bit of filler on one of my rear arches so he had to stop because it was going to crack, this was a night or 2 before we left so there was no time to paint them, we had to leave it at that, he will be able to get them out a lot more but il need a respray after it so I'm putting it off for a good few weeks

Engine in, a few days before the ferry, everything had to be connected up, megasquirt had to be fitted along with the new IAT sensor and then mapped/tuned, while Brendan was doing the arches and the car had to be raised up so I had no clearance issues with the new wheels, I had hoped to fit feed style sideskirts i had to both cars too plus clean and de-tar both and compound the blue one, fit new low profile lights aswell (it was starting to look like abit of an impossible task) as I was working up to the day before the ferry! Thanks a million to my friends, David O Keefe, Brendan Gordon, Zack Upton and my brother Declan for all the long days and late nights getting the car ready

You might have noticed my air flow meter gone, I was able to get rid of this by fitting the megasquirt ecu and the IAT sensor that was inc with it

I also had to fit a variable throttle position sensor from a newer mx5 so it was easier to map/tune the new ecu, this along with a decent map should give me a lot better fuel consumption

Zack and Dave were up till all hours getting the car running and live mapping it, they used a pretty safe map, a little rich but it was running good and I was delighted to have it going again, the night was very bad so they couldn't really do a proper map at full throttle, il come back to this in awhile but I was delighted with the power I had heading over to England, here's a pic of the 2 cars filling up on the way to the ferry
